The electric car is the solution for getting rid of a great majority of all the oil based fuel driven vehicles we use today for daily commutes. With an electric powered vehicle to and from work would cost a fraction of what it does today. On a single charge one could travel 80 kms. To and from work, the store, dinner etc.
The environment would benefit from this in ways we could only dream of today. Smog would be a thing of the past, people could have their windows down in the middle of a traffic jam right in the downtown core of a major city and actually be able to breath fresh air.
The majority of the vehicles on the road today are cars containing 1-2 people commuting less than 40kms each way. If all these vehicles were electrically powered, the planet would thank us with a breath of fresh air.
